Create your LandScope account and start a new project in minutes. Everything runs in your browser, so you can go from signing up to working map without a call or software setup.
Draw your boundary and check the coverage.
Trace your property line on the map and LandScope will show whether LiDAR covers the area before you begin. You know right away whether a full terrain read is possible, before you spend time setting anything up.
If it isn’t covered, you can upload your own digital elevation model.
Read beyond the boundary line, at the detail your project needs.
Water does not care about property lines, so expand the analysis area to see what arrives from uphill and what leaves your site. Then set the contour interval to match the decision in front of you, from reading a whole valley to working out a house pad, pond, or access line. Every contour is generated directly from LiDAR, not copied from coarse county mapping.
Get the full terrain read without the usual wait.
Once you hit go, LandScope handles the LiDAR sourcing, processing, and hydrology run for you. Watch your complete site analysis reveal itself with slope, water flow, wet ground, and landforms already mapped and explained in plain language.
See the site in 3D, not just from above.
Switch into 3D to read slope, landform, and water movement in a way flat maps can miss. It is the fastest way to turn a finished analysis into a more intuitive understanding of how the land actually behaves.
Work the map with the tools your team actually needs.
Use the toolbar to draw polygons, run cross sections, measure distances, mark ideas, upload photos, leave comments, and bring collaborators into the same workspace. Instead of passing files back and forth, your team works from one shared view of the land.
“The hydrology features are pure gold. Plus, the slope feature helps us meet defensible space requirements in wildfire-prone regions.”
“I formed an initial list of price negotiation points before even seeing the site in person. It enabled a depth of insight impossible to do through site visits alone.”
“I can produce initial assessments in half the time and present clients with a foundation that feels like having a lifetime of information at their fingertips.”
“We didn't feel ready to spend thousands on a wetland delineation for land we might not buy. LandScope bridged the gap and cut out the stress of feeling stuck.”
“This multi-layered analysis revealed vulnerability clusters impossible to identify through conventional methods, significantly strengthening the overall rigor of my dissertation.”

- Simple, powerful tools for sections, polygons, measurements, sketching, and markups
- Photos, comments, collaborators, exports, and print from one source of truth
- Better land decisions without hiring a GIS specialist or becoming one yourself
1 mapping platform. 30+ terrain layers. Thousands of profound insights.
The full hydrology sequence has already run on your parcel by the time the map opens. You get to see where the water goes, without running any complex GIS algorithms, navigating a single government portal, or dealing with projection issues.
Every shape you draw returns 2 acreages: flat-map area and true 3D surface area. Steep ground holds more real surface than the deed says, and your fencing, seed, and mulch orders finally match it.
What the county’s 5 ft contours are hiding on your site: everything smaller than 5 ft. The bench, the old ditch, the low spot behind the house pad. LandScope draws down to 1 ft, from LiDAR.
What never shows on the public map: the channel, 2 ft wide and a few inches deep, that decides where your driveway washes out. It’s sitting in your LiDAR right now.
A flat parcel is the safe parcel, right? Wrong. Flat is where water sits. The wetness layer sorts your flats into the ones that drain and the ones that hold.
Why land that cleared every map can still flood: the official layers are drawn from many inputs, and terrain is the one you can check yourself. "I am NOT in a flood zone. The first time it rained when we moved in, my entire yard flooded up to my front door."
When you get home from the site walk, import the GPX track. Where you naturally walked is the terrain’s opinion. Design with it.
How much of this parcel can you actually build on? Draw a shape around the question and the answer comes back in seconds: slope classes with verdicts, wet ground, landforms, true surface area.
If a parcel is going to die, then let it die in an afternoon. One investor’s screening stack said dry ("swampy despite the systems we use saying it wasn’t"). The terrain read happens before earnest money: slope shares, wetness, drainage crossings, a printable report.
The quickest way to size a pond, check a well-to-septic separation, or plan a sprinkler throw: drag a circle until the acreage reads right.
10 landforms, auto-named across your whole property: ridge, spur, shoulder, hollow, footslope, valley, pit. The vocabulary of land, applied to yours.
From a browser tab to CAD in one click: 1 ft contours in monochrome at drawing weight, exported to DXF at true UTM coordinates. Opens in AutoCAD as clean linework.
How to test a building site without a shovel: drop a to-scale barn rectangle, rotate it to the contours, duplicate it for option B. Each edge labels its own azimuth for the builder.
Caution: the wettest 5% of your land is a short, specific list of places. The percentile layers rank them. Walk those exact spots in boots before you site anything.
The truth about waiting for rain: the advice is honest, and it costs a year per lesson. One family’s pond hit a ground surprise: $21,195 and 4 years of failed fixes. The water story is already in your LiDAR.
The best seat you can hand a client is free: they fly the site in 3D, leave comments, sketch their own ideas onto the terrain, and print. No editing, no downloads, no way to break your work.
Surprising what your land remembers: old roadbeds, filled ditches, a previous owner’s terraces. LiDAR hillshade reads the ground under the vegetation, and cuts made decades ago still cast shadows.
Are you supposed to just know what a wetness index is? No. Every layer carries a "?" that explains it in plain language, so the map teaches you while you read it.
Your boundary doesn’t stop water, so neither do we: drainage is computed beyond your parcel lines, and the flow arriving from uphill neighbors is already counted.
$2,800: what one designer was quoted for a topo map of a single site. LandScope reads your site free at full LiDAR resolution, and $449 keeps it forever.

Where the data is ready today.
V2 sources LiDAR automatically from national programs. If your land is on this list, the read is minutes away:
A coverage map inside the app shows exactly what’s available on your land before you commit to anything. New sources come online regularly, and if your area isn’t covered, you can upload your own digital elevation model (DEM).
If it isn’t for you, you’ve lost nothing. Start a project on your own land at full resolution, free, with no card and no commitment. Owning the map and taking the files with you is a separate unlock, for when the read makes the decision easy.

Frequently Asked Questions
LandScope is a fast, accessible way to understand terrain, water movement, and other land patterns before making design, development, or stewardship decisions.
It turns complex geospatial data into clear visual insight, so you can spend less time wrestling with GIS and more time deciding what to do with the land.
LandScope is built for architects, landscape designers, regenerative developers, land stewards, permaculture practitioners, and other professionals who need to understand how a property functions as a whole.
You do not need to be a GIS specialist to use it.
Start by creating a project and entering the location of the property you want to understand. LandScope then generates a set of terrain and land-analysis layers for you to explore.
Your first project lets you experience the workflow and see what the platform can reveal about your site before deciding whether to unlock the full project.
You need the location or boundary of the property you want to analyze. Depending on the project, you may be able to enter an address, draw an area, or upload a boundary file.
Yes. The heavy lifting happens on our servers; your browser just displays the result. If your machine can handle Google Earth in a browser tab, it can handle V2. Nothing to install, nothing to configure.
No. LandScope is designed to make useful land insight accessible without requiring you to manage projections, process raw data, or build every layer manually.
Some GIS knowledge may help you explore the results more deeply, but it is not required to get started.
If GIS already pays your bills, V2 is the fast lane, not a replacement: instant layers on any parcel, client-ready sharing, and CAD hand-off as DXF at true coordinates. If GIS has been the toll booth between you and your land, V2 removes the toll.
LandScope is designed to generate an initial project quickly, often within minutes, depending on the property, data availability, and processing requirements.
LandScope sources LiDAR terrain data automatically from 15 national elevation programs across 12 countries: the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom (England, Scotland, and Wales), Ireland, the Netherlands, France, Switzerland, Austria, Norway, Portugal, New Zealand, and Uruguay.
Most of that data is 0.5 to 1 m resolution. France has both 0.5 m LiDAR HD and a 1 m national model, Scotland uses the best resolution available for each area, Portugal covers the mainland, and Uruguay is 2.5 m.
Coverage inside a country is not always complete, so the app shows exactly what is available on your land before you start. If your area isn’t covered, you can upload your own digital elevation model.
LandScope can help you explore terrain, elevation, slope, aspect, drainage patterns, water movement, flow accumulation, and other site conditions.
These insights can support decisions about access, building placement, grading, water management, planting, restoration, and early-stage site planning.
Yes. LandScope can help you identify potential risks, opportunities, and questions to investigate before committing to a property.
It is useful for forming an initial understanding of the site before visiting, making an offer, or commissioning more expensive specialist work.
LandScope uses geospatial and terrain data to provide a high-level understanding of how a site functions. The usefulness and resolution of the results depend on the quality and availability of the underlying data.
LandScope is intended to support better decisions, not to replace field verification, surveys, engineering analysis, regulatory determinations, or other specialist assessments.
No. LandScope helps you understand a property earlier and ask better questions, but it does not replace licensed professionals or site-specific investigations where those are required.
Think of it as a decision-support and planning tool, not a regulatory or engineering certification.
You can review the available analysis and decide whether to unlock the project for full access.
You can unlock projects individually, or choose Atlas if you need ongoing access across multiple properties and projects.
Atlas is designed for people who need to analyze multiple properties or work in LandScope regularly.
It provides ongoing access to the platform rather than requiring you to purchase each project individually.
Atlas is LandScope’s ongoing-access plan for professionals, teams, and organizations that need to work across multiple projects.
It is intended for people who use land analysis repeatedly and want continued access to the platform, project workflows, and collaboration features.
Yes. You can start with a free project, unlock individual projects as needed, and move to Atlas later when ongoing mapping makes more sense for your work.
You do not need to choose Atlas before experiencing LandScope.
